Written by Suzette Janse van Rensburg
(Company Secretarial Department)
In terms of the Final Deregistration Notice 61 of 2017 (‘’Final Deregistration Notice’’) issued by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (‘’CIPC’’), Companies and Close Corporations who have not complied with the filing of outstanding annual returns will be finally deregistered on 2 February 2018.
The pending final deregistration of Companies and Close Corporations can only be cancelled by filing (payment and submission) of all outstanding annual returns before 2 February 2018.
The legal effect of deregistration is that a Company or Close Corporation can no longer trade in the name of the Company or Close Corporation. Any questions relating to compliance with annual returns and the reinstatement of deregistered Companies and Close Corporations may be referred to Suzette Janse van Rensburg by sending an e-mail to suzette.jansevanrensburg@eoh.co.za or by calling her on (012) 307 3337.
